Accommodation in Las Palmas

April usually is low season in Las Palmas, with many accommodation options. Since the pandemic we’ve seen an increase in the prices and less options available. To reduce the costs of your stay during the course, it can be smart to share an apartment or share a room.

Booking.com is the biggest platform and has a very easy cancellation policy, in most cases you get a full refund until a few days or a week before your stay. This means that places still become available again last-minute. When apartments are not available for the full period of the course, consider staying in multiple places. Airbnb has more strict cancellation policies, but nice options. If you find a place that you would like to share, please let us know! We can offer it here.

The area along Playa de las Canteras is walking distance from the Shala. Om Yoga is located here. Most apartments are quite simple, so don’t expect something fancy unless you pay a fancy price.

City Bikes and e-scooters can be a good alternative too if you stay further away from the Shala, they are cheap and widely available, check all information here. There’s a Moxsi station close to the Shala. (In 2023 the usage of the bikes was limited to 6am - 11pm, not sure if that’s still the case)

The old town of Las Palmas and neighbouring La Vegueta district have more beautiful houses and colonial architecture. You can take a bus to the Shala, this will take around 30 mins, exact times can be checked on Google Maps. We could also help you to contact local TAXI drivers to get a rate for a taxi every morning from the old town to the Shala (or multiple times a day) that could be shared with different Yogis staying in the area.

The experience of our students the past four years was that staying close to the Shala is preferable.
